After discussing with Dr. Tanja, we found the video doesn't connect to the interior design and architecture field. So we had the brainstorm and decide to do the following staff:
Do posters: Middle of the October
Use posters to analyze my works
A booklet & portfolio of the work:
End of the October
Animation of the Revit model: End of the September

Literature review
In order to create a new typology, because the new typology is the combination of traditional Chinese style and western style,so in this week, I have done some literature review about traditional Chinese interior design
The background of traditional Chinese design
As one of the four ancient civilizations in the world, China has a long history with an abundance of historical and cultural deposits. (Hong (2021) Now, interior design is considered as the part of the culture, in Li Tao and Zhou Jin’s research Journal “Internal Relation between Design and Culture - Chinese Cultural Characteristics Reflected in Interior Design”, they said: “Chinese interior designers need to think better of returning to traditional Chinese culture and have it carried forward.” (2013)

Bat Pattern
There was no concept of both interior design and interior designer in ancient China, the people who directed workers to build house was called “Zao Yuan”, the ancient interior designer was also considered as a craftsman rather than a designer. (“Yuan Ye” Vol.1)And the interior style of this era mainly determined by the house owner’s aesthetic and Chinese traditional culture , house owner usually liked to add the decoration with strong cultural characteristics into the house design . For example , ancient Chinese people liked to use hand-carved bats to decorate doors or windows , because the Chinese word for bat is “Bian Fu” , in China , Fu has the similar pronunciation with the word “lucky” , so this decoration is meant to bring luck to every family member .
The Influence of Traditional Chinese schools on Interior Design
The traditional Chinese style has very strong national characteristics because traditional Chinese culture is one of the most important parts of orientalism. In Zeng Wang’s research Journal: “As flourishing traditional Chinese culture is the result of interaction among Confucianism, Taoism, and Buddhism.” (2014) Through Chinese people’s long histories, these three traditional Chinese Schools also exert tremendous influence on Chinese traditional interior design

In Kouji Ichikawa’s research Journal “Windows in Chinese Architecture Part 1: The Window in Classical Architecture”, he said:” Peony and plumb leaves, fish scales, and in some cases the Buddhist Manji sign (as an icon of fire and the sun), are examples of things that are often used in window patterns, but one can say that in China these are all popular good luck symbols.” (2018)
